International Rope Skipping Organization (IRSO) is currently in partnership with the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU). AAU IRSO both are hosting World Rope Skipping Championship together.
The AAU was founded in 1888 to establish standards and uniformity in amateur sports. During its earlier years, the AAU represented the U.S. in international sports federations and worked closely with the Olympic movement to prepare athletes for the Olympic Games. After the Amateur Sports Act of 1978, the AAU focused on providing sports programs for all ages beginning at the grass-root level. This value of “Sports for All Forever” is shared by nearly 850,000 participants and volunteers.
